ALPHA|BETA|OMEGA INFORMATION
There is a lot of information regarding the Alpha|Beta|Omega troupe popular in fanfiction and roleplay. A lot of information, and a lot of flexibility. The fact of the matter is that it can be overwhelming and daunting. So while at the end we will provide some good links for reference, we will provide for you a guide regard the ABO information as it will pertain to our game.
GENDER & SEXUALITY
There are six genders in the ABO universe, they are Male and Female separated further by the genetic ranking of Alpha, Beta and Omega. Meaning: Alpha Male, Alpha Female, Beta Male, Beta Female, Omega Male and Omega Female.
Proper Sexuality by the masses, what would be Heterosexual for us, is any pairing that would produce an offspring. Any pairing that does not promote an offspring is called Queer, or strange. The ABO instinct is to procreate, so the old fashioned and traditional can find it hard to understand why people would mate with someone who couldn’t give them children. Times are changing, however.
There are also increasing numbers of transsexuals. While it is impossible to change what you present as in a rank, one can take steps to change if they are male or female within that rank. There is testing being done with suppressants able to suppress Heat and allow Omegas to pass as Betas, but it is a controversial study and as of now they are still at the animal testing stage. They are meeting resistance in taking it to human trial.
RANK
There are three ranks within both gender identifiers. They are Alpha, Beta and Omega. We will now go into detail for each one.
Alpha: Alphas are the top of the social ladder. They are strong and territorial. Their persoanlities are often described as arrogant and autocratic. This is by no means to mean they are not capable of compromise and understanding, every Alpha is different and unique. Alphas make up 13% of the population. Among the Alphas 10% are male, 3% are female.
Alphas have larger than normal genitalia, with their penises being 8-12inches in length as well as larger than normal in girth. At the base of their cocks is a spongy area that, during an Omegas’ Heat, can swell into a knot for up to 30 minutes.
Alpha Females do possess a vagina, though they are incapable of carrying. Any Alpha Female who had enough estrogen to even attempt have always miscarried. Instead of a clit they have a retractable penis and internal testicales. Their penis grows and comes out of a sheath in their bodies upon arousal, and retracts upon completion.
Beta: Betas the the norm. They are not overly dominant, nor overly submissive. They make up the most of society and hold the more common jobs, own businesses. Their fertility is normal. Out of the population Betas make up 52%, with 25% male and 27% female.
Males still experience Rut and females Heat, however their fertility does not increase at these times. Males cannot have children, females do not have penises. The male Beta’s cock is average in size, 5-7 inches fully erect.
Omega: Omegas, while not as plentiful as Betas, are not as rare as Alphas. Omegas cannot impregnate, male or female. Socially, they are still, to this day, treated as second class citizens. Omegas are not allowed to hold positions of power, nor any job that would put them in harms way. Omegas make up 35% of the population, with 15% male and 20% female.
Omegas experience Heat, which doubles their fertility [see Heat]. Female Omegas have no special or additional parts to their forms.
Male Omegas have a complicated physiology. They have a penis that secretes a clear like substance called ‘slick’ instead of semen, as they cannot impregnate. This same substance is secreted in their anal cavity upon arousal, and is a natural lubricant. They have a uterus and ovaries, and an anal cervix that stays sealed off unless brought to a high state of arousal during normal time, or when in Heat. At such times they can become pregnant. They then have a supravaginal opening that stays sealed until labor pains begin, located behind the testicles. It relaxes and dilates through labor until the child can be birthed naturally. [credit]
HEAT
Heat is a time every 24-28 days that lasts 4-7 days in which female Betas and Omegas are sexually aroused and feel an overwhelming desire to mate/breed. While Beta Females are not anymore fertile, omegas become twice as fertile as normal. Contraceptives are a necessity to ensure that the omega does not become pregnant at this time.
During Heat the body uses extraordinary amounts of energy in the drive to ‘become pregnant’. They typically only eat light and small amounts of food at this time and drink heavily pf water, and after Heat ends needs large amounts of sleep to recover in the next few days. If not pregnant menstrual cycles begin after Heat ends.
RUT
Rut is what Alphas and male Betas experience. Once a year they go into Rut during what is typically seen as Mating Season, also known as Spring Time. However a Beta female or Omega in Heat can throw them into Rut as well. Rut lasts from 4-7 days.
Rut is an overwhelming need to mate/breed. Of needing to get their partner with child. It is admittedly more difficult for a Beta female to throw an out of season Alpha and/or male Beta into Rut compared to an Omega. They are incredibly territorial and combative in this state. Unmated Alphas must be isolated at this time, while male Betas are still mostly functional, though it is highly suggested they do so as well.
